[Outreachy 2024] [Pre-Requisite] [Step 3] Write a blog post that introduces the Fedora community to your audience
Summary
Write a blog post on your blog that introduces the Fedora Project, Fedora Linux, and the Fedora community. Post a link to your blog article to this issue to verify completion.
Background
You should already have seen #140 (closed), #153 (closed), and #154 (closed) to learn more about Fedora and our community. This issue is considered a pre-requisite to be considered eligible for the Fedora Community Architect Outreachy internship. Non-completion of this issue means an applicant will not be considered for the Outreachy internship.
In this task, we want you to put Fedora into your own words. Since you started contributing during the Outreachy applicant phase, what have you learned about Fedora? We want you to give a general introduction to Fedora to the readers of your blog. How you introduce Fedora is up to you, but if you are feeling stuck on what to write, here are some ideas to get you started:
- What does the Fedora Project do? What kinds of things happen in Fedora?
- What are the Four Foundations and what did they mean to you when they were introduced in the March 8th call?
- What is something you find interesting about Fedora?
- What is something you find confusing about Fedora?
- If an Outreachy 2025 applicant were to read your blog post next year, what advice would you give them to understand Fedora?
You can use all, some, or none of these questions in your introduction post.
Details
You should now have your own blog, per the steps described in #154 (closed). This should be the first post on your blog about Fedora. How you introduce Fedora is largely up to you, so give us your best first impression!
To verify completion, simply comment in this issue with a link to your blog post. Once a mentor verifies your blog post, you will be assigned to this issue, which marks you as having successfully completed this task.
Outcome
You write a blog post that synthesizes the knowledge and information you have been reading about Fedora as an Outreachy applicant and demonstrates your writing proficiency to mentors.
