[Outreachy 2024] [Stretch] Evaluate impact of your promotion campaign
Summary
Prepare a "one-pager" report that evaluates the impact of your blog post outreach, preferably with visuals and data. Add a comment here with your "one-pager" report describing the impact of your outreach.
Background
Before tackling this stretch goal task, you should already have a blog (#154 (closed)), published two articles (#155 (closed), #157 (closed)), and made some social media posts (#156 (closed)). This task gets you to use your analytical muscle
A common task that a Community Architect intern would need to do is evaluate how impactful their outreach and messaging is. What is working? What is performing well and what did not engage? How do you know what is working? These are questions we want you to approach and address in a brief analysis of your outreach efforts.
NOTE: Success here does not your post is doing crazy numbers. Success is describing the messaging journey and what the impact of your promotion was. For example, a blog post with 25 views but described in detail could be more successful than a blog post with 3,500 views but poorly described. We want to understand your process more than the actual numbers your content generates!
Details
Successfully completing this task looks like a new GitLab comment on this issue that shares your "one-pager" report. Focus on being clear and concise. We don't want to read a huge essay, but we want the main points and summarized version. How you present this information is up to you, but visuals and charts/graphs can go a long way.
To verify completion, simply comment in this issue with your "one-pager" report. Once a mentor verifies your report, you will be assigned to this issue, which marks you as having successfully completed this task.
Outcome
- Applicants gain experience in talking about and describing the impact of their work.
- Mentors are better able to evaluate your ability to simplify complex ideas and present them to different stakeholders.
