- Gerardo Gutierrez: How does it feel to be Staff?
- Arty: Nice that it’s done – it took almost a year. Recognition for the work we do feels nice and is important. Having the title is a “positive spiral” that motivates one to go and do more. I have higher expectations for myself, but at the same time, I am empowered to make decisions and have a higher degree of accountability. This can be two-sided: it’s stressful but empowering. Day-to-day: not really different. Why? By the time you get promoted, you’re already doing the work. (See Senior AMA discussion.) Arty thinks more about relationship between work we do and Support-wide strategy/initiative (given role change and participation in CEO shadow program). Considering top 12 projects. Thinking long-term much more often – quarters and years instead of days and weeks.
- Please consider CEO shadow! The requirements have been dropped. It’s tough but you are not alone. Checkout the #ceo-shadow-alumni Slack channel.

- Katrin Leinweber: Are all seniors assigned to particular customers?
- Not a general rule, but naturally happens usually (for self-managed)
- Some problems simply require more context knowledge, which favours those SEs who have worked on their tickets before
- Some larger customers only send tickets for perf or other very advanced tickets
- Large reference architectures still being validated, which includes SEs working with a customer.
- Some customers have requested permanently assigned SEs, but support management has always turned down the idea due to various concerns.
- ProfServ engineers are assigned to customers for implementation often up to the 1st upgrade.
- Support for closed beta feature

- Based on Slack thread, it looks like we don’t support it.
- Arty will touch base with Mario who is the assignee.
2021-04-06
- Alvin Gounder https://gitlab.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/202217 The ticket may be “solved” but I am more curious about some of the concepts around it:
- What does
git push origin --force “...”
do and what could be causing it to time out? - Is there a doc change we can do to imply that smaller splits would be better?
