Social Media Report:
1. Mastodon: going well, nothing to report.
2. Bluesky: no volunteers showed up, archiving until someone comes along.
3. Facebook: picking up its old userbase nicely, @Lazur posted some trends screenshots, and said "the new version announcement reached about 10k people and 10% reacted in some form" which seems like a good success for reanimating an account that has been dormant for over a year
Challenges Report: going well, consistent.
Artist of the Month Report: Next vote was published after the meeting, 3 candidates preselected by @pacecraft .
Hackfest article Report: @zigzagmlt is working on it, looking for help from @doctormo , will hopefully be able to share results with @Moini on Oct. 9 or 10.
Shared info about @adam.belis asking for opinions on release numbering scheme at #274
@pono1 would like to help Vectors with highlighting contractors work by helping contractors write more approachable blog posts, so these will be easier to share on social media. @zigzagmlt expressed interest to help out there, too, and @pono1 wants to keep her in the loop.
@pono1 told us about the new SFC-approved T-shirt print provider, https://www.printful.com/ which is currently being tested out by SFC for their Outreachy program. It would allow us to:
- have an Inkscape-specific user account
- with billing directly from the Inkscape bank account
- and sharing a personalized 'voucher link' where the recipient of a T-shirt can enter their name, size and address
- after the recipient being approved by SFC.
- Shirts are about 20$ plus shipping
- no shipping to Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Ecuador, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea - possibly we can work around the restriction for shipping to Russia (About Screen Contest winner lives there) - but needs to conform to SFC policies, too.
- @zigzagmlt and @Moini would like to look into compiling a list of persons who may get one in November
- @pono1 will report back on how things went when they know more
Ideas collection for Anniversary Celebration (Anniversary on Nov 6):
- prep a social media campaign and look at a couple of articles focused on what we've accomplished and where we're going, posted throughout the upcoming year (idea)
- 20th anniversary as the theme for the Nov challenge (being implemented by @pacecraft )
- Online hackfest in spring / summer
- Cohosting a birthday party with Gimpscape
- Collecting birthday wishes in a form (first draft is out for review by @Moini )
- Social media post on Nov. 6
- Online Birthday party on Nov. 18:
  - people who volunteered as hosts: @zigzagmlt @doctormo @pono1
  - @raniaamina wants to ask a young Inkscape user whether they would like to present something
