Nexus OS is a modular, live-boot Linux distribution that combines a minimal kernel, peer-to-peer file sharing, and distributed consensus into a single bootable system. It is not a single work under a single license — it is a collection of independently-licensed components, each governed by its own terms. The kernel and kernel modules remain under GPLv2-only. Original Nexus OS tooling, build scripts, and integration layers are released under Apache 2.0. The BitTorrent and blockchain layers carry the licenses of their respective implementations. Nexus OS is built for users who want to run their own infrastructure, verify their own software, and take responsibility for how they use it. The project provides tools; it does not control, monitor, or endorse what those tools are used for.
