focus-blocking

  • Timetable Alarms is a local-first desktop app for people who already plan their day as a markdown table or bullet list. Paste the plan into the Timetable Console, review a preview that accounts for every row, and press Arm — the app then rings at each block's start time even when its window is closed, the app is in the background, or OS notifications are silenced.

Built as a single-process Wails v3 desktop app (Go backend, Svelte 5 + Tailwind frontend), all time-critical work runs in the Go process rather than the webview, whose background timers are throttled or suspended.

Highlights: • Paste → preview → arm, with every row marked ringable, already past or unparseable • Lenient time grammar: 09:00, 9am, 9:30 PM, noon, midnight, ranges like 9:00 to 10:30 and 11-1pm, with AM/PM inferred and flagged • Saved timetable library in a local SQLite database • Departure-board UI: split-flap time tiles, live day track, next-alarm countdown • Loud looping Go audio, always-on-top ring window with Dismiss and Snooze, tray/menu-bar presence • Sleep and clock-change detection with "late by X" catch-up; armed day restored across restarts • Windows focus blocking: close chosen apps and block chosen sites during a block, with a pause option • In-app Settings and Diagnostics, including fire lateness, catch-ups and adherence stats • 100% local: no accounts, no sync, no server, no telemetry

Platforms: Windows 10/11 and macOS 13+ (primary), Linux best-effort. Focus blocking is Windows-only.
