Further study and extend mEEvo model

This MR contains all the work on the mEEvo model I did in the months running up to my PhD thesis deadline. It includes all general changes; the thesis-related config sets and plot definitions are not included here.

Importantly, this also puts the repo under the LGPLv3+ license.

  • Changes follow coding guidelines
  • Checked code coverage on new and adjusted code

• Ready for merging
  • Pipeline passes without warnings
  • History cleaned-up (will keep all history in this case)
