Use non-recursive make
It's a bit annoying to work on surfraw and have the screen be cluttered with make[N]: Entering directory [...]
to do basically nothing.
Also, there are 4 places where every elvis needs to be listed:

(2) and (4) are only used to distribute (and install, for (2)) the manpage links and test files, respectively. It's a pain to keep them in sync, and (2)-(4) could be replaced by a single file, say elvi.list
, that is used in dist-hook
, install-data-hook
, and uninstall-local
.
I guess one thing we lose is seeing the name of every elvis in the output, since it'll just be while loops over the elvi.
