Univention Corporate Server (UCS) is an enterprise Linux distribution based on Debian/GNU Linux. There's a free licence, but commercial support is available. It is developed since 2002 by Univention GmbH from Bremen, Germany, Europe. It's mainly used in German speaking counties (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), but also world wide.
- Major releases happen roughly every 5 years
- Minor updates are released yearly and are tied to a major release
- Patch-level updates aggregate errata updates of the minor release and are released each 3 months
