RGBA16 png export: no difference between RGB-8 and RGB-16
I saw a lot of posts and reports about the lack of dithering in the Inkscape. (inbox#154 (moved) https://xor0110.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/inkscape-gradients-dithering-hack/ https://blueprints.launchpad.net/inkscape/+spec/dithered-gradients http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1814433 https://alpha.inkscape.org/vectors/www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic307c.html?t=35458)
But finally I noted 16bit png export, so I thought that I could finally export the image in 16 bit, and then apply the conversion to 8bit color with dithering, using Imagick (for example). But then I tried, 16 bit export it just keeps 8bit colors.
Steps to reproduce:
- open file
- export to PNG with 16 bit depth.
- then open result in GIMP and use RGB curves to check bit depth
What happened?
The result will be looks like
Rendered result (file 16bit png):
What should have happened?

Expected result (file 16bit png):
Waveform compare in Blender.
Left - expected result, right - rendered image
