could not execute query: ERROR: pg_class index OID value not set when in binary upgrade mode PG 9.6 -> PG 10.9
Initially seen in Ticket https://gitlab.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/132147
The core problem we ran into on a DB upgrade was:
pg_restore: creating TABLE "public.application_settings"
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] Error while PROCESSING TOC:
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] Error from TOC entry 194; 1259 16487 TABLE application_settings gitlab
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] could not execute query: ERROR: pg_class index OID value not set when in binary upgrade mode
We saw this 2x and then it looked like it bombed out.
This was a default one server omnibus install, so it was unclear what was unexpected here. @abrandl you come to mind as someone who might know more, or be able to point us in the right direction.
The customer won't be able to attempt an upgrade again for a while, but we can ask for dumps and such if that will help us see the problem to work around it for the next attempt.
