Extended internal/allowed docs

What does this MR do?

Adds more in-depth documentation on how the /api/:version/internal/allowed endpoint works. Can be expanded further in future but covers some basics that aren't immediately obvious.

• The MR includes necessary changes to maintain consistency between UI, API, email, or other methods
• Security reports checked/validated by a reviewer from the AppSec team
