Revert "Merge branch 'pedropombeiro/372117/remove-default-sort-order' into 'master'"

This reverts commit 9ca65ac4 (!117904 (merged)), reversing changes made to 588d4263. This is being done because I just realized that this deprecation hadn't been announced in data/deprecations, so I'm reverting the removal and adding a commit that introduces the proper yaml file.
