Upload versioned designs

Frontend issue: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ee/issues/9667

Problem to solve

When engineers and designers are working together to build products, the issue is the single source of truth for knowing what needs to be built, how it will be built and how it should work, but it can be difficult to locate the current version of designs being discussed as they will be in some comment towards the bottom of the page, and it is difficult to see the evolution of the design as the length of discussions grow.

There should be a single place to go to find the current design and access previous versions of the designs.

Target audience

This feature will benefit UX Designers by giving them an obvious location for uploading designs and versioning them, and will benefit Software Engineers and Product Managers by providing a consistent location to view designs.

Further details

This is the first step in delivering the MVC of Design Management &660 (closed) which will provide a single place to view and discuss designs.

Proposal

Working as a designer, I will be able to:

  • upload multiple images to the design section of an issue
  • create a new version of the design by uploading a new set of images

Working as software engineer, or product manager, I will be able to:

  • click on a design to see more details

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
