Ensure feature parity between the super sidebar and current navigation

Proposal

With the development of the new super sidebar navigation, we should ensure that we include all the features in the current navigation that may have been added in the time it took us to build out the new one.

I'm using this issue as a way to track these potential changes so we can be sure they're considered before we fully launch.

Let's keep them in a list now and we can expand them to full issues later.
