Purpose

Update the use case for an ellipsis suffix on a button label.

  • We don't include this option in any of the buttons in Figma examples.
  • The only example of ellipsis in a button label in GitLab UI is for truncation.
  • The ellipsis shouldn't be confused with the ellipses button variant.
  • In this table, no screen reader announces an ellipsis when in context (within other content), it only adds a pause.
  • Context should indicate that one action leads to another, this shouldn't explicitly fall on a button label.
