UX Engagement & Partnership Survey Overview
This survey is comprised of two parts: UX engagement questions, and UX partnership questions. Given the highly specialized nature of UX and the fact that it is in service to so many others we've determined the need to introduce this survey. Note that this survey exists in conjunction with the Gitlab Engagement Survey and Pulse Surveys. These Gitlab surveys are intended to compliment and not overlap with the UX Engagement & Partnership Survey.
Survey Purpose
- Gather UX feedback to inform our UX strategy and priorities
- Establish a baseline of where we are today and affirm we are improving going-forward
- Establish data for important internal UX metrics
- Understand and improve mutual UX partner relationships
Survey administration details
This 2-in-one survey supports two audiences, UX team members and UX stakeholders
- UX: This includes everyone in the UX organization. These members will receive one survey that comprise the two parts of this survey: a) UX Engagement questions, and b)the UX-version of the Partnership questions.
- Partners/Stakeholders: This includes direct and indirect "stakeholders." This list is to be procured by UX leaders and will likely be mostly PMs and engineers within section/stages/feature teams. They may also be in peripheral teams like CSM and Marketing. Stakeholders should be considered as those cross-functional stable counterparts whom we work with to get work done collaboratively. This group will receive only the the Partner-version of the UX Partnership questions.
The frequency of the re-issuance of this UX Engagement & Partnership Survey is tentatively set at every 6 months (to be confirmed 5 months after the baseline is attained).
Timeline
- May 3 - All UX manager feedback is accounted for
- May 8 - Final UX Director alignment
- May 10 - Survey input closes
- May 15 - Survey design completion & testing
- May 11 - Communicate to team members and stakeholders that this survey is coming
- May 17 - Survey launched to recipients
- May 31 - Survey responses close
- Jun 14 - Survey analysis complete
- Jun 21 - Action plan agreed on by full UX leadership team
- Jun 25 - Readout + action plan communicated to UX team & stakeholders
About the readouts
- UX-all level - to be communicated by @ampesta (target UX Call on Jun 25)
- UX Functions - to be communicated by the directors
- Stakeholders - to be communicated asynchronously
