Difficulties with cloning the Gitlab Design Repo and suggestions for lighter repo using sketch-json for version control
😄 I wanted to share an issue I had when cloning this repo, and also reviewing the content
Hi there The issue was that I downloaded this repo and is currently 4.73 GB, it takes a lot of time and it didn't clone properly.
As I am also a UX designer and I use git and currently gitlab on a daily basis, I face some problems due to the fact that we normally work with binary files. This makes the repo heavy and also it makes merges difficult and doesn't allow to manage conflicts between files for proper merges. Althought there are ways around, is not that smooth and efficient as it could be. This is specially critical when the design team is big like yours.
