UX Theme
Help GitLab users know when something has gone wrong by better integrating alerts with features across the product
Beneficiary
- Developers across an organization, so they know when important tasks relating to their role haven't been completed as intended
- Deployment teams
- SRE teams
Need & JTBD
-
JTBD:
- When something has broken or isn't working as expected, I want to quickly address the problem, so I can get things back up and running.
-
Need (currently formulated as user stories):
- As a SRE, I want to be made aware of reliability concerns as soon as they happen, so I can quickly review and resolve problems to get the services running again.
- As a developer, if there's a problem with something I've done, or if something that I expected to have happened, I want to know about it as soon as possible, so that I can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Business objective
Will hopefully introduce our alerting feature to people using other feature sets in the product, thereby increasing usage for incident management as a category.
