Improve affordance for draggable items [Drag & drop🤏]
Challenge
- How might we better indicate to users that an item is available to be dragged? We currently inconsistently indicate this with a drop shadow- which limits the use of drop shadows for perhaps more appropriate cases.
- How might we better communicate to users that an item is available to be dragged but currently disabled?
- How might we better communicate to users that an item is available to be dragged but locked or the user doesn't have permission?
- How might we give users a better drag "target" so that there are less accidental clicks? For example, users often drag & drop on accident when trying to click an issue link, or vice versa will click into an issue on accident when trying to drag & drop.
- How might we make better use of our icons? How might we use these to perhaps indicate directionality?
