Revisit use of lines in the UI
Problem to solve
During the recent research surrounding the category maturity scorecard for issue tracking, I noticed users spending a lot of time browsing the page to complete simple tasks. Issues, in particular, have a lot of information to digest, particularly for new users.
User experience goal
I believe by revisiting our use of divider lines and borders in the UI, we could simplify the visual experience a bit and make the product feel lighter to interact with.
Proposal
Revisit use of all borders and divider lines. Are they all still providing value? Is there a better way to approach showing things like relationships between elements and boundaries? Using background colors and whitespace perhaps? Below is an example I was playing with in Dev tools of how this could potentially look.
