How to setup a Fireside Chat program with non-traditional stable counterparts
Idea
There are many teams across GitLab that have consistent and direct contact with real users. They're on the front lines and have a ton of valuable information about our users and their needs with our product (e.g. Customer Support, Customer Success, Sales, TAM, etc.). UXers know how valuable this information is and we think it would be incredible if we could come up with a way to gather this data on a consistent basis and feed it back to our teams while also providing them with insights on what we're working on.
Goals
- Create a program where we meet with our "front-line" teams on a consistent basis
- Gather information that can easily be consumed by UX/PM et al to help push our product's UX forward
- Provide information back to these "front-line" teams on what we're up to
- Build collaboration and alliances across teams that may not otherwise work together very often
How might we do this?
Thanks to @hollyreynolds for the initial idea to get the wheels spinning and @beckalippert for the initial topic!
