I would like to volunteer to be a Merge Request Coach as per Applying to become a Merge Request Coach.

Why you want to become a Merge Request Coach?

I enjoy open-source and the interaction with members from the wider community.

How much time you are planning to spend on it?

As much time as possible!

Which duties you are focusing on (e.g. triage, finish stale MRs)?

Following Merge Request Coach Responsibilities I want to become a Merge Request Coach for these reasons:

  • Help contributors to get their merge requests to meet the contribution acceptance criteria.
  • Help find and assign merge requests to available reviewers.
  • If the contributor is unresponsive or if they are unable to finish it, finish their merge requests.
  • Make it easy to contribute to GitLab even for people who are new to Ruby, JavaScript, Golang, etc. or programming entirely. For example, you can add any hints or possible fixes on issues that are open for community contribution.
