  • Renders previews of files too large for Nextcloud's own preview providers, by running a command-line renderer on the file's local path rather than loading the file into PHP or sending it to a service.

    What you get:

PDF and Illustrator previews through pdftoppm (poppler), of the first page, at the full preview size, for files of any size. Limits around every render: a timeout, a memory cap and a raised out-of-memory score, each switchable and each with its value. Per type and per extension: which files the app takes, and from which size up to which size; anything it declines goes to the next provider.

Only files on local, unencrypted storage are rendered. Everything else is left to Nextcloud's other preview providers.
