Nextcloud-App

Renders previews of files too large for Nextcloud's own preview providers, by running a command-line renderer on the file's local path rather than loading the file into PHP or sending it to a service.

What you get:

PDF and Illustrator previews through pdftoppm (poppler), of the first page, at the full preview size, for files of any size. Limits around every render: a timeout, a memory cap and a raised out-of-memory score, each switchable and each with its value. Per type and per extension: which files the app takes, and from which size up to which size; anything it declines goes to the next provider.

Only files on local, unencrypted storage are rendered. Everything else is left to Nextcloud's other preview providers.

Indexes file checksums, so a file can be found by its checksum, and its duplicates at once.

What you get:

Unified Search by hash: paste a checksum, find the file. A Checksums tab in the file details: lists every checksum stored for the file, recalculated on demand, with its duplicates listed inline. A Duplicates page: every group of identical files you hold, and, for those allowed to look across accounts, other accounts' files too. Rules decide what is hashed and when: instance-wide or per account, by path pattern, computed in the background. A stable REST API (v1) and a stable PHP API for other apps and integrations. occ commands for hashing, searching, duplicates, rules, backup and import. Storage in Nextcloud's own files metadata index: no custom tables, nothing to migrate.
