Creating a spline network "on top of" a biome graph
Hello,
I've got a world created from several different Biomes (Biome Set) component. However I want to create a network of outposts and spline roads between them and it doesn't seem possible to acquire the height data at the "top level" in order to use that height to control the pathfinding and outpost placement etc. Also it doesn't seem possible to adjust the Microsplat Materials at the top level in order to add in roads etc.
I've tried using the Brushes-> HeightIn component to read the height at the top level but it seems not to work. I also saw a commented out Heightin component but it seems out of date and I don't have the experience to get it working again. I've also tried reading the microsplat layers from one component in order to write them into another microsplat component (plus one more layer for roads) but a microsplat component even without any inputs into it will still write the default layer, rather than just reading the layers... however I can manage without this as it shouldn't be too hard to do this in post processing.
Can you think of a way of achieving what I am trying to do? I'd be happy to pay you for some of your time to consult on this as I do like Map Magic very much and just need a way of fixing this particular issue.
