This commit is the last in a commit chain resolving deprecation warnings
widely distributed throughout the codebase. Specifically, this commit
resolves the remaining 25% of all deprecation warnings evidenced by our
test suite. Unrelatedly, this commit also extends our license's
copyright year range to embrace this current year. (*Manifold marigold!*)
