Slideshow order files/ordered downloads
It would be useful to be able to extract a set of photos from Zoph for example to use in a talk or quiz, naming the extracted files so that they appear in some particular order when displayed though any program which shows a set of files in alphabetical order.
The input to the process would be a .CSV file, for example called 'garden-club-perenials.csv' containing
Slidenumber,photo_id,optional-title
where
- slidenumber is a 2 digit number padded with leading zero
- photo_id is the zoph photo ID
- optional-title may be used in constructing the extracted filename
This file could be used as an input to the Download zipfile page, as well as, optionally being produced by it. It could be edited in any program, such as a spreadsheet which inputs and outputs .CSV files.
The resultant zipfile(s) when extracted would produce a set of files named either (as examples)
- 01_garden-club-perenials.jpg
- 02_garden-club-perenials.jpg
- ...
or
- 01_Winter_flowering_Jamime.jpg
- 02_Mulching_out.jpg
- ...
Where the titles come either from the Zoph photo title, or if supplied in the optional-title of the csv, from the input file - in both cases being run through a sanitiser to make safe filenames. The first format would be better for an online quiz, in case the viewing program displays the name of the picture. The second would be better for a talk. Once the talk or quiz had taken place there would be no need to retain it as a separate set of files as it could be recreated from the Zoph instance and the file.
Potentially the Lightbox could be modified to allow re-arranging photos into a particular order, but this would be much more work than simply saving the csv and photos from the lightbox, rearranging the order externally by editing the csv file, and then producing a new download in the required order.
