WIP: Follow ow.ly redirects

there was something weird going on with ow.ly where the redirects were 'broken' even though they seemed to work for Twitter.

The ow.ly redirects were using 'http', but http://ow.ly didn't actually respond at all. Changing to https did the trick.

This hack 'fixed' it for me, but we should probably double-check it's still needed and not some temporary outage at ow.ly.
