Expose `r_viewscale` in the Video settings menu
r_viewscale
below 1.0 can be used to reduce the resolution of 3D rendering while keeping 2D elements (such as the HUD) crisp. Modern games often prefer this to actually changing the resolution, as it allows for fast alt-tabbing and it makes 2D elements easier to read – especially scoreboards.
I think a Resolution scale slider should be added to the video settings menu, with a range between 25% and 100% (default). We may want to list the resolution scale slider before the actual resolution, since changing resolution scale is a better option most of the time nowadays.
I've seen someone on a server today for whom native 1024×768 was too slow, so I recommended them to use r_viewscale 0.75
instead of decreasing the resolution to 800×600.
