Texture corruption with Intel graphics

Several users (at least three, including myself) are reporting texture errors in Xonotic in combination with Intel graphics (i915 drivers). The problem seems to be related to a recent update of the graphics drivers, as this kind of texture corruption only happens with current releases. I’m not sure if this is a Ubuntu-thing, as I’m using Ubuntu 12.10 myself, and the other two of the affected users are using Linux Mint 12 and 14 (with current drivers afaik).
Have a look at the attached screenshot(s) to get an idea of the kind of texture corruption this bug introduces. The corruption doesn’t happen for all textures, and on some maps it’s just the skymap which is affected. In this case, playing with r_sky 0 helps a lot. On other maps, I have to set r_showsurfaces 3 to be able to find my way through the map. What might also be interesting that the grenades in the Overkill mod are also always affected by this bug, and show up as some white cube once thrown. As not all textures are affected, it might well be that this is not really a texture problem, but e.g. some problem with the shaders.
