Automatic scale for the sideview widget
(In the same spirit that #739 (closed), but requires more work, so filed into a separate request.)
Two suggestions regarding the scale of the sideview widget.
I would love to see:
- Automatic scale: when in transition, it would change the scale to show the most useful view of the mountains depending on where I would hit terrain (averaged, on the current track).
Needs to be tested, but I would guess showing the intersection of track into terrain at about 80% on the right of the widget.
This way, I get the better scale possible, while seeing the mountain that's immediately after.
- To navigation point: same, but by positioning the point selected for navigation at 80%.
Both settings would help to get a feel at where I will be at the end of the current transition or navigation more effectively.
