Behaviour of « Format Text.vi » if input string contains some asciidoc special characters
If the input string contains asciidoc special characters the result of « Format Text.vi » can be different from the expectation.
Example Format Text with Italic and input string =”MY BEAUTIFUL TITLE” The result in asciidoc is “MY BEAUTIFUL TITLE” and The rendering in html is “MY BEAUTIFUL TITLE” displayed in bold italic…
A solution could be to escape the input string (adding +++ at begin and end of the string) The result in asciidoc would be +++MY BEAUTIFUL TITLE+++ and the renderingin html would be correct “MY BEAUTIFUL TITLE” in italic not bold.
That’s for “Format Text.vi”… there is also a similar problem with “Add Line Break.vi”, but here the solution is not that evident. Can the input strings of this VI contain asciidoctor special character that one must not escape ? I would say yes (first line in Italic and second line in bold produced by « Format Text.vi » for example). But if I want to use “Add Line Break.vi”with first line and second line not formatted then it would be necessary to escape the strings… A solution could be to concur that strings in input of “Add Line Break.vi” have an asciidoc syntax. They would necessarily be the output of « Format Text.vi » (needs to add a choice “NoFormat” for this). Escaping would then be performed only in « Format Text.vi »…issue21.txt
