Image width and height, image orientation problems
I am using via-2.0.11
. I try to understand an issue that I have regarding image orientation
For example, for the same image, exiftool
, identify
(from imagemagick) and the Ubuntu file system (right-click on the image and checking its properties) can give different values than via-2.0.11
, so I wonder what do you use in the background to get image width and height.
Here is an example of an image that creates this issue:
When exporting annotation in the COCO format, the via-2.0.11
gives these image statics (both under Windows and Ubuntu OS):
Image Width | Image Height |
---|---|
336 | 448 |
However, on Ubuntu, if I run the exiftool
command, I get:
exiftool -ImageHeight -ImageWidth -Orientation Diptera_Anthomyiidae_Delia_lamelliseta_2075125.jpg
Image Width | Image Height | Orientation |
---|---|---|
448 | 336 | Rotate 270 CW |
It looks like VIA is rotating the image when it displays it, and therfore when I create bounding boxes, thier coordinates will be based on the flipped dimensions of the image.
Also, would be a great feature to have the pixel values also exported in the JSON file when we save a VIA project (so not only when we export as COCO).
