Port SailfishOS's `harbour-shutter` camera application to Ubuntu Touch (Focal) on Pine devices
This issue has shown that the default Ubuntu Touch camera app's use of QtMultimedia is causing issues, at least on the Pine Phone.
Luigi has mentioned that the habour-shutter
camera app on SailfishOS works on both PinePhone and PinePhone Pro.
Looking into the app, it looks like although it is still using Qt
for the GUI, it is no longer using QtMultimedia
to interface with the camera, but is using libcamera
instead.
According to Luigi, the developer of the app is open to porting it over to Ubuntu Touch directly and it potentially replacing lomiri-camera-app
as the default camera app on Ubuntu Touch devices. This might be a promising path forward.
To confirm, we should first port the app over to Ubuntu Touch.
