Make it possible to refresh Git Synchronization window when branch has changed outside of the window
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Open Git Synchronization window on a repository. Note the local and remote branch. Keep this window open.
- In a separate process, switch/checkout to another branch (for example using the terminal, or using Visual Studio code)
- Go back to the open Git Synchronization window. Pres F5 to refresh window. Note the local and remote branch.
What is the expected output?
The local and remote branch should reflect the change made in step 2 above.
What do you see instead?
The local and remote branch remains unchanged. It seems that one has to close the window and open it again for this change to become visible in the GUI.
What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit: 2.14.0.0
Git: 2.39.2.windows.1
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (10.0.19045)
Please provide any additional information below.
While I prefer the tortoisegit GUI for most syncing activity, I sometimes use the terminal or the Visual Code git plugin to quickly switch to another branch. So it would be great if an already open Git Synchronization window would reflect that change, either automatically or after pressing F5.
