[ENH] Add flexibility in selecting the dates (month and year)

Add flexibility in choosing the date. Before we could not choose the month and year directly, but now we can.

You can test the change everywhere where there is a possibility to select the date through the calendar picker.

For the PluginConvene case, you have to use the plugin in a wiki page to see the result.
