CI: test installation on latest Ubuntu distributions?
The installation procedures for Octez documented at https://tezos.gitlab.io/introduction/howtoget.html are currently tested with the LTS (= long-term service) Linux releases that are still supported officially (for several years) by their distributors: Ubuntu and Fedora. However, they are not tested with non-LTS releases that are also still officially supported (albeit for a few months only). This latter case concerns many users who upgrade their Linux at every release.
This issue raises the following questions:
- Do we want to also test installation with the latest non-LTS releases?
- If yes, should we prepare specific packages for these Linux releases (currently we don't)? Or should we test the automatically-created packages at https://gitlab.com/tezos/tezos/-/releases?
