What does this MR do and why?

Increase cnpg archive_timeout

This parameter sets the amount of time to wait before forcing a switch to the next WAL file. Similarly to checkpoint_timeout, the default archive_timeout of 5 min was causing the WAL PVC to be filled quickly in case of loss of synchronization.

See this note in the related issue, we've observed significant change in an existing deployment after applying that change.

Additionally, as it contributes to fill the WAL directory, and given that postgresql attempts to keep that directory size between wal_keep_size and max_wal_size. It is suspected to cause old segments to be deleted too early during rolling updates, causing replicas to be unable to replay WAL stream since older segment had already been deleted.

  • autorun pipelines
  • allow failure on pipelines
  • record sylvactl events

Notes:

  • Enabling autorun will make deployment pipelines to be run automatically without human interaction
  • Disabling allow failure will make deployment pipelines mandatory for pipeline success.
  • if both autorun and allow failure are disabled, deployment pipelines will need manual triggering but will be blocking the pipeline

Be aware: after configuration change, pipeline is not triggered automatically. Please run it manually (by clicking the run pipeline button in Pipelines tab) or push new code.
