Metrics server for kubeadm deployments

What does this MR do and why?

Closes #2399 (closed)

This MR enables metrics-server installation for kubeadm-based clusters using the CABPK bootstrap provider.

Currently, the metrics-server and metrics-server-ha units are enabled only when the bootstrap provider is cabpr. Because of this, kubeadm/CABPK deployments do not get metrics-server installed by default.

This MR updates the unit enablement logic so that metrics-server is installed for both:

  • cabpr
  • cabpk

To allow metrics-server to work with the current kubeadm/CABPK kubelet certificate behavior, this MR adds the --kubelet-insecure-tls argument only when the bootstrap provider is cabpk.

The MR also updates the control-plane node selector to use the internal control-plane node label value instead of hardcoding "true".

Changes done

This MR updates charts/sylva-units/values.yaml to:

  • enable metrics-server-ha for both cabpr and cabpk
  • enable metrics-server for both cabpr and cabpk
  • add --kubelet-insecure-tls only for cabpk
  • use .Values._internal.cp_node_label_value for the control-plane node selector

Global config for deployment pipelines

  • autorun pipelines
  • allow failure on pipelines
  • record sylvactl events

Notes:

  • Enabling autorun will make deployment pipelines to be run automatically without human interaction
  • Disabling allow failure will make deployment pipelines mandatory for pipeline success.
  • if both autorun and allow failure are disabled, deployment pipelines will need manual triggering but will be blocking the pipeline

Be aware: after configuration change, pipeline is not triggered automatically. Please run it manually (by clicking the run pipeline button in Pipelines tab) or push new code.
