Desktop file and icon for PyPi version
The PyPi version currently does not install icons nor a desktop file for itself.
When installing with --user
, these can go to:
$HOME/.local/share/applications/
$HOME/.local/share/icons/``hicolor/scalable/apps/
When install without --user
and with sudo
, these can go to:
/usr/share/applications/
/usr/share/icons/``hicolor/scalable/apps/
Both can be expressed as:
$prefix/share/applications/
$prefix/share/icons/
References:
What I did was:
pip install --user sublime-music
wget https://gitlab.com/sublime-music/sublime-music/-/raw/master/sublime-music.desktop\?inline\=false -O ~/.local/share/applications/sublime-music.desktop
wget https://gitlab.com/sublime-music/sublime-music/-/raw/master/logo/icon.svg\?inline\=false -O ~/.local/share/icons/sublime-music.svg
update-desktop-database
How would placing these files there be implemented with the current hook into pip install
?
