View Source for Guile Hoot
Not sure if this is the best place to suggest/discuss this, but I was thinking about Guile's place in the GNUiverse, and wondering if a small feature added now might really help in making the sharing of web scheme code easier for both developers and users.
My thought is that, as part of the building of a wasm file, Hoot should easily allow the embedding of the license and source file text of the original code, as strings in the final build. Care would have to be taken to prevent secret leakage, and I'm not sure that, given that constraint, it would be that simple to guarantee all the files needed to modify and build a Hoot application. Perhaps something along the lines of some per-module metadata, or a set of files given to the compilation function.
My thinking is that this shouldn't be the default, but putting the plumbing in now, and setting a norm for the first Guile Hoot programs to use this feature, could really help in distributing source, combatting the fear some have of losing "view source" in a move toward Wasm in the browser, and set some standards that would be useful for powerful development tools down the line.
What do you think?
