馃摑 Gitlab's 'Getting started with SATIE' (INSTALL-SATIE.md) documentation doesn't really get you started with SATIE (at least on MacOS 12.6.5) and lack some information/links to improve external use accessibility
Summary
It is not a bug, but rather an incomplete documentation on the 'Getting started' steps for MacOS users, which I followed precisely, but still have no clue on what to do after I run the following commande in SuperCollider :
Quarks.install("SATIE");
~/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/Extensions
could be more specific for MacOS installations. Example : /Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/Extensions
Since there are two almost identical folder paths on MacOS. One system-wide (MacintoshHD/Library/Application Support/...) and one user-specific (MacintoshHD/Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/...).
Examples :
- https://sat-mtl.gitlab.io/documentation/satie/fr/
- https://sat-mtl.gitlab.io/documentation/satie/fr/contents.html
Steps to reproduce
- Install SuperCollider on MacOS 12.6.5, by downloading, extracting and dragging
SuperCollider
into theApplications
folder. - Go to
~/Library/Application Support/
and create the following folders/SuperCollider/Extensions
- Download and extract the sc3-plugins folder into the newly created
~/Library/Application Support/SuperCollider/Extensions
folder - Open SuperCollider and enter the following command-line in the IDE window :
Quarks.install("SATIE");
- Click on the Post Window tab (Help Browser tab is selected by default) to find out that the Quarks were successfully installed -- I didn't know it worked until I clicked on that tab (not a SuperCollider user btw)
- Then what? There is no more step to guide the user on how to run or use SATIE (user guide link or else) and I'm not sure I understand what this line means : 'You must restart the SuperCollider interpreter, or recompile the class library, in order to make SATIE available for use after installation.' How is this done exactly and how can I run SATIE after restarting the interpreter? I still have no clue of what SATIE does or look like at this point...
Example Project
No bug report
What is the current bug behavior?
Nothing happens, no fetching after the command Quarks.install("SATIE");
What is the expected correct behavior?
SuperCollider should fetch the SATIE quarks through its repository
Relevant logs and/or screenshots

Possible fixes
More detailed documentation or better tested in real life conditions.
