GPL License and iOS AppStore
Hi everyone,
I've been making an iOS app using the SANE net backend to perform a real scan from an iPhone or iPad. It started as a pet project some years ago, which I briefly distributed on the AppStore before realising the GPL license could be an issue. I've removed the app from the AppStore and open sourced it: https://github.com/dvkch/SaneScanner
First I'd like to apologise for putting the app on the AppStore without checking with the makers and contributors at the time if it was allowed by the chosen license, this was foolish and very ignorant of me.
As of today I still use the app on my own devices and still find it very useful, and thus would like to properly ask you: does the licensing would permit me to reinstate the app on the iOS AppStore? Are there any changes I could make in the app that could help making it compliant to the licensing?
I'm really open to all possible outcomes, and if there is no way to make the app available again I would of course respect this.
Thanks for your time and this amazing library that served me well over the years!
