Purushotham Sirasapalli
CS + Math at the University at Buffalo. Graduating May 2026.
Note
Open to new-grad roles starting June 2026 in SWE, robotics middleware, performance engineering, or HFT.
I build systems that push computation to the edge. Right now that means a metagenomic classifier indexing the full Archaeal, Bacterial, Fungal, and Viral NCBI catalogs (17 GB on disk, classifies inside 800 MB of RAM), plus decentralized swarm robots that localize signal sources without a central coordinator.
Now
Building SKiMet's gRPC server/client framework. IROS 2026 paper under review.
Selected work
- SKiMet (primary author, in-progress): metagenomic classifier with a sub-GB memory footprint over a 17 GB index. C++20.
- Coriolis-Lite (primary author): C++20 FM-Index built around cache behavior and SIMD-friendly layout.
- SKiM (co-author, Bioinformatics): owned the caching and concurrency subsystem.
- IROS 2026 swarm paper (co-author): decentralized signal-source localization.
