Keep an eye on Cwtch, consider it once it's more mature
Cwtch is an actively maintained messaging application based on Sarah Jamie Lewis's Go port of Ricochet, which adds (among other things) asynchronous messaging, multiparty messaging, v3 onion service support, and Android support. My understanding is that Signal's current (unfortunate) PRISM Break status as "recommended" is due to metadata resistance; my guess is that Cwtch would meet or exceed Signal's metadata resistance without the main drawbacks of Signal.
Given that Cwtch is still in alpha status, it's probably not a good idea to recommend yet, but I'd suggest that we should keep an eye on Cwtch and seriously consider recommending it once it's more mature.
