I just ordered an ATmega32U4 board, so I should be able to root my chromecast via HubCap next week. @PureTryOut updated, and two people on r/postmarketOS are willing to help.
I don't know much python, could someone help with the "chromecast" flasher method? It needs to partition a rootfs and flash the boot.img (via chromecast-tools, boot.img needs to be at a specific offset to be detected)... to a USB Flash Drive
