I've verified that this works as expected with the OP6.

This is a short patch and risk-free patch that brings a very good improvement for users. So even though we are quite late in the release stage I think we should ship it with v24.06 too.

Thanks to @verdre for backporting this patch to the mobile-shell stable branch! A new release of mobile-shell is on the way too, but this definitively won't be ready in time for the v24.06 release.
