<msm8916-mainline>: minor cleanup and fixes, remove downstream kernel for wileyfox-crackling

Minecrell requested to merge Minecrell/pmaports:msm8916-cleanup into master

See commit log. The change set looks larger than it really is. The removed downstream kernel is quite large and then the same changes are applied separately to 8 device packages.
