alcatel-idol3: Touchscreen stopped working
Hi everyone,
I have been testing alcatel-idol3 for a year now and when I reinstalled it (edge - master branch, using pmbootstrap) I noticed that the touchscreen is not working anymore. When I boot into recovery (TWRP), the touchscreen works so I don't think it's a hardware issue (also I recently changed the touchscreen and it was working with pmOS).
I usually use SXMO but I tried it also with Phosh and Plasma Mobile to no avail.
When I was looking through the sources and the wiki, I have noticed two things:
- The kernel package for this device was recently changed from qcom-8939 to qcom-8916. This device has Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, which is MSM8939, but I'm not certain that this is the issue.
- The deviceinfo has dropped rmi_core (which in the PR they state that it's automatically pulled by rmi_i2c) and when I looked through the wiki I came accross this page which in the touchscreen subcategory it's stated:
There are some problems with suspend and module 'rmi_i2c'. (dmesg here) Temporary fix to enable touch:
$sudo rmmod rmi_i2c
$sudo modprobe rmi_i2c
Also you can create crontab script with this lines.
The thing is, because I don't have a working touchscreen now, I cannot enable SSH so I cannot actually carry out these steps. I tried to chroot before installing pmOS and enable sshd, but I don't think I did it quite right. Is there a page where I can see how to actually chroot and enable SSH?
